"007: I Only Need One" is a passion project based on the filmmakers' love for the character of James Bond. Pre-production and crowd funding began in January 2015, raising only $2,000 from its $5,000 goal. The crew had to wrangle every available free resource and some crew had to pay out of pocket in order to make the movie possible. While no one was paid, it was an immense learning experience for everyone involved, breaking new ground for creative possibilities.

Part of the expense was the construction of a 10 x 5 foot set that featured walls of spinning mirrors that rotated simultaneously to disorient visitors. Bill Salanoa required three months to build the set while Matthew J. Salanoa (director) and Andrew J. Neis (producer) scouted locations, found actors and prepared the props and rehearsed fight scenes. Filming began on March15th, 2015, and was officially completed mid-June after two days of re-shoots. The lighting equipment was provided by cinematographer Jessida Putkaew and 2nd Unit cinematographer Azzrinna Kadri. Neis designed the special effects, stunts, and choreographed the fight scenes.

Post-Production took a full year, requiring four months for the initial edit, and another eight months for the sound design and main title design. With the exception of one scene, there was no production sound recorded. Every sound had to be placed from pre-recorded free audio and carefully manipulated to sound natural and real. Additional sound work was required from Paul Zambrano in order to give the mirror spinning a unique and creepy sound. Neis nabbed Yannick "Goldzen" Zenhausern, a composer for James Bond video games and a musician in his own rite, and he provided a score reminiscent of John Barry (Man with the Golden Gun).

This movie was made entirely with the help of friends and family, a true independent effort driven by the desire to make a fan film that did not "feel" like a fan film, but rather had professional cinematography, effects, stunts and performances. The short was fortunate enough to win awards for Best Costumes, Best Fan Film and Best Action Sequence within months of its online release.
