DELETED SCENES
"Hello, darling."

Bond Versus Kananga
Extended Fight Scene
Originally this footage was intended to be a brief scene with only a few cool stunt moves. The footage was always meant to play on Scaramanga's computer. However, Erik Lee, who plays Kananga, happened to be a Martial Arts instructor and was adept at taking Andrew's choreography. Erik offered so much in this scene, beyond what was expected, and although the majority of it ended up on the cutting room floor, we felt he deserved his own deleted scene for everyone to see.
Extended Opening Scene
One of our original ideas for the funhouse was that it should be a cavernous set in which the mirrored walls repeated themselves to the point that even behind the mirrors were more hallways full of mirrors. There is an unused part of the set that was intended for Bond to jump and break down a wall to escape the mirrors, but he found himself in another hall of mirrors. This gag was a set up to that moment. As we never shot the gag with Bond, this moment was no longer necessary.
Scaramanga's Next Hit
Before there was a title sequence, there was this extended scene that showed Scaramanga placing the Phantom Assassin's gun on his trophy wall. While cutting this scene made the character and his mission less clear, it gave more weight to the trophy wall later when Bond discovered it. "Perspective" was an important aspect that went into the direction of "007." Scaramanga was more terrifying as he was more mysterious, but finding that line was a journey of its own that had to be played with in the editing room.
Bond in the Rafters
After Scaramanga's bullet ricocheted from Bond's gun, narrowly saving his life, Bond originally escaped to the rafters as he hid from Scaramanga. While it was fun, and perhaps the best part of the finale, it made the final confrontation laborious and excessive. Removing this segment from the movie also served to maintain Scaramanga as an imposing, mysterious opponent.
